These clients have beautiful taste and collect art and sculpture. They commissioned me to design a new swimming pool, into their existing undulating landscape. We decided to locate the pool on retaining walls so it looked flat from the house and flatten the area surrounding it as a stage for sculptures to sit on. We added a gilded sphere sculpture next to the pool, which was juxtaposed with the diving lady. To set these off, extra-large pots were selected as a background against large walls to add drama to the poolside, coupled with a flowing, grassy plant palette. The rest of the planting was designed to flow around the pool and house and complement the colour scheme.
